Plot Overview
After learning that he can understand when a person is evil, convenience store clerk Lee Tang goes on a killing spree to rid the world of all evil. However, as his motivations start becoming questionable, in comes a cold-blooded and focused detective Jang Nan-gam who will stop at nothing until he can catch Tang and bring an end to his crimes.
A Killer Paradox Ending Explained

When the series starts, we see convenience store clerk Lee Tang living a normal and rather boring life and hopes to move to Canada for a better future. Unfortunately, his life is put in disarray when, one night, he accidentally kills a man after he starts attacking Tang following an altercation. Racked by guilt, he is unable to sleep, but soon after, the police investigation proves that the man is a well-known serial killer living under an assumed identity.
Thinking that this is the worst that can happen, his guilt starts to fade, only for him to be blackmailed by a visually impaired woman who was there at the crime scene that night. He quickly figures out that she is able to see fine and goes to her house to pay her to stay quiet. Unfortunately, she refuses to let him go with just one payment and he kills her in order to keep her quiet. Racked with guilt again, he is quickly saved from the pits of despair when he finds out that the murdered woman was also a killer.
Confused, he goes on a drinking spree, killing two bullies who tried to harass him that night. Waking up the next morning, he realises what he has done and is unable to accept his behaviour, Tang decides to end his life but is unable to get through with it. He decides to give in to the police but can’t go through with that either. Eventually, he learns that the two bullies had raped a girl a few years ago, ending in her taking her own life. Realising that he has some sort of power, he comes in contact with a nerd called Roh-bin, who decides to help him in his mission.

Unfortunately, that complicates things. As the cops close in on the two of them, they both have to change locations in order to not get caught. Things take a sinister turn with Roh-bin’s past associate and fellow serial killer Song Chon suddenly makes an appearance and decides that he needs to meet Lee Tang. Of course, that, too, ends in violence and Chon decides to tail Roh-bin and Tang and end their lives since his skewered morality doesn’t take much to go over the edge.
What Happened in A Killer Paradox Episode 8?
In episode 8, Roh-bin gets together with Nan-gam to catch Song Chon and stop him from killing any more people while a scared Tang, after running away from Busan, decides to come back to his homeland after realising that Roh-bin will not come with him and might just be killed by Chon while trying to stop him. All of them come together in an abandoned warehouse/factory where a fight breaks out; Roh-bin is shot by Nan-gam in the scuffle, Song Chon is stabbed by Tang and he tells him why he wanted to meet him – he wanted to know how he selected his victims and if he was sure whether the people he was killing deserved it. He wanted to make sure whether such a power existed.

Chon further tells Nan-gam about his mother’s infidelity and his father’s drug business that breaks the detective’s heart.
Is Song Chon Killed?
In the aftermath of the heartbreaking revelation, Nan-gam finally pulls the trigger on Song Chon when he tries to attack Tang, resulting in him instantly dying.
What Happens to Lee Tang and Nan-gam?
Tang tells Nan-gam that killing someone isn’t easy and agrees with him that it’s all over and that he won’t run away anymore. Later on, we see that Nan-gam has adopted Seon Yeo-ok’s dog and, as it turns out, things have worked in Roh-bin’s favour after it is revealed that thanks to his meticulous planning, the police have accepted him to be the murderer instead of Tang.
Roh-bin knew that he was going to die in the process of catching Chon and worked with that idea so that Tang wouldn’t get caught. Nan-gam doesn’t correct the police or tell them about Lee Tang’s involvement, thinking back to when the latter had asked him to end his life after the misery that he has caused everyone around him and that he doesn’t want to run away anymore.

However, Nan-gam spares his life and eventually quits the force. Meanwhile, Tang, now living with the consequences of his actions, has moved somewhere else but cannot live a normal life while the powers that he possesses implore him to take matters into his own hands. He eventually moves to South Korea again after being deported and Nan-gam realises that Tang has started his vigilantism once more after learning on the news about a murder, the victim of whom has turned out to be a prime suspect in a kidnapping and murder case. The last scene shows Tang walking down a road and turning around to look at a man that he bumped into, seemingly realising that he isn’t a good guy.
