The Impossible Heir is about to release on Disney+ on February 28, 2024, and from the looks of it, it looks like a dramatic and thrilling ride. The drama follows Kang In-ha, an illegitimate son of a chaebol, and his ambitious childhood friend Han Tae-ho, who work together to pull themselves out of their miserable life and take over the business from their new family. However, another ambitious woman throws a wrench in their plans when she enters the scene with a similar plan.
Lee Jun-young is an impressive actor who has definitely won some hearts over the years. He is a former member of UNB and U-KISS and has worked in several movies and dramas over the years to rave reviews. Thus, if you can’t wait to watch him in the Disney+ series, these movies and shows are sure to keep you invested till then!
Avengers Social Club (2017)
This 12-episode series is a thrilling ride about the lives of three women from different walks of life who come together for revenge. Although there was no chance of them meeting naturally, a shocking incident catapulted them into each other’s lives and gave rise to a unique situation. The storyline, although extremely humorous, is also a tight social commentary surrounding women’s issues that will move you in different ways. The ensemble cast is excellent and there’s an air of reliability and fierceness that will stay with you long after the drama is over.
D.P. (2021 – 2023)
Following the lives of soldiers who have to arrest deserters while serving in the Korean army, the series is a gut-wrenching and shocking watch that will stay with you for a long time. Despite its burst of comedy elements, this drama deals with some pretty heavy topics that will be an uncomfortable watch for sure. The characters are written excellently and there is some beautiful depth in all of the characters that will make your heart ache for them. The hard-hitting series is obviously difficult and might not be for everyone, but it’s definitely a must-watch for those who love dark, gritty dramas that deal with the reality of life.
May I Help You (2022)
This supernatural romantic-drama series has a unique premise wherein Baek Dong-joo, on her first day at the morgue, realises that she has the gift to communicate with the dead and grant their wish. If she fails to do so she will encounter bad luck. Scared, she runs away and, for the next year, encounters some very bad moments. When she eventually comes back to right her wrong, she meets Kim Tae-hee, a man for hire, and their fates intertwine.
The series showcases some beautiful realities of life and deals with many questions including what life means for us. The drama isn’t just a funny romantic watch, it has depth and important questions that will stay with you long after it’s over. The beautifully woven storyline ends on a beautiful note that truly creates a nerve-wracking impact that you won’t expect from a mile away. The way the fates of the leads are intertwined will also be a reason for you to keep on watching the drama.
Love and Leashes (2022)
This 2-hour movie starring Seo Hyun and Lee Jun-young is a light and frothy watch with different kinks thrown in the midst. This movie is funny and entertaining although not very family-friendly (obviously) and you can’t help but be drawn to the leads and their chemistry. It definitely makes your heart flutter and the beautifully shot scenes are worth the watch. Plus, the lovable characters have a lot going for them as you watch their relationship grow and mature with the help of some toys, of course.
Badland Hunters (2024)
A sequel to 2023’s Concrete Utopia, this thrilling and entertaining movie will keep you enthralled throughout. There is not one moment in this film where you will find yourself lost or bored and it knows what it is and delivers on it with 100% certainty. The sets are used thoroughly and the lovable characters take you on a journey with them through a shocking wasteland. On the other hand, some very humorous moments will make you laugh out loud as well. All in all, this one is a movie that you definitely should not miss.
